This course will develop students' knowledge, skills and behaviours within Sport, Coaching and Physical Development. Students will learn from a mixture and theoretical and practical application of knowledege, making full use of the excellent sport and fitness facilities based at Eastbourne sports park. The course offers the flexibility to assess students in a variety of methods, including practical observations, production of podcasts and written assignments

This qualification consists of a number of units which are academic equivalence of 1.5 A-Levels. The course units for study are;
You will produce three or four assignments for each unit.
Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English or maths at grade 4.
Assessment: You will be assessed on a continuous assessment basis at specific times throughout the year. Assessment methods include essay writing, presentations and practical observations.
Duration: 1 year Equivalent to: 1.5 A-Levels
On completion of this course you may progress to complete 3 A-Levels after year 2 – The BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity Development.
Learners may wish to progress to year 2 to complete the Level 3 Extended Diploma, which is an additional 8 units. To do so you must achieve the Foundation Diploma.
Cost of the course will be approximately £100 which covers: uniform/induction activities & a compulsory qualification in sports coaching.
