You will also learn how to analyse professional media products as well as making your own video, audio, photographic and print products. The course content is 70% practical and 30% theoretical study.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3. A portfolio of work will be required.
Assessment is based on coursework, which runs right through the year. Your work will be externally assessed at the end of the academic year by the UAL awarding body.
You will achieve UAL Creative Media Production & Technology Level 2 Any Functional Skills required for progression to level 3
If you achieve a Merit or Distinction in this qualification you can go on to Advanced Level courses, including the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production.
We ask all Media students to purchase a pair of headphones and to make sure they have materials to support their learning. You may be asked to contribute towards additional trips on the course which sit outside of the curriculum trips and visits.
This course also benefits from visiting lecturers including local, regional, and national media professionals. Students are expected to undertake around six hours of home study per week in addition to classes at the college.
