You will develop skills that employers have asked us to include in a programme that enables you to become employer ready. You will develop basic vehicle servicing skills in vehicle maintenance, basic vehicle accident repair skills and included in all this will be employability skills, looking at CV’s, working with customers, communicating with others, costing repairs to name but a few areas. Being on this programme means that you will be studying Maths and English as your main aim in this programme of study. In order to get you employer / apprenticeships ready you will need to achieve 4/5 in Maths and English during this study programme.
You will need to demonstrate an ability to achieve Level 1 English and maths by the end of the course through an initial assessment.
You will be assessed carrying out various tasks, working towards building portfolio of evidence that can be presented to an employer, as preparation for employment.
There is no qualification based around this course but your aim will be to improve your Maths / English to the standard expected by employers, along with developing skills that will enabling you to be employment ready in the industry leading to apprenticeships / employment.
Progression for this course is either apprenticeships or level 2 in Accident Body repair or Vehicle Maintenance repair.
There will be a materials fee, and you will be expected to provide your own safety boots and overalls.
This course is about development of a person to meet the ever-demanding requirements of the industry. Employers have listed and advised on skills they would candidates to have developed on this study programme.
Learners will develop a portfolio of evidence of skills developed and achievements made, that will be presentable to a potential employer.
Learners will improve their Maths and English to the level needed for progression. Maths and English will be certificated via a national awarding body, where achievement has been made passing an exam.
