Working with children and young people can be one of the most rewarding ways to make a living and studying the CACHE Early Years Practitioner diploma will open the door to many roles in this area.
During this one-year course you will learn a range of skills that will prepare you for work in a supervised capacity with children and their families. Learning will combine theory and practical elements to give you an understanding of the role that a childcare practitioner plays in the workplace, how to ensure that children are kept safe, and understand how children learn and develop. You will also take cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences into consideration.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English at grade 4 and maths at grade 3. A clear DBS check will be required.
You will be assessed by a range of methods, including direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments and practical tasks.
Early Years Practitioner Level 2
On completion of the course you can progress to the Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools suite of qualifications.
You may also look to start your career in the industry as a Nursery assistant or a Childminder's assistant.
Students on this course will be obliged to purchase text books and a uniform for work placement .
During the course there will also be an additional cost for educational visits.
In order to complete this course it is a requirement that you carry out a DBS check .
