During the course you will study a range of units including:
Worldwide Travel and Tourism Destinations Visitor Attractions Interpersonal Skills for the Travel and Tourism Workplace UK Travel and Tourism Destinations Resort Representatives Tour Operations Travel Planning Principles of Customer Service Throughout the year you will meet industry professionals who will enhance your learning with their experience and advice. You will improve your knowledge of the world and also get to train in our excellent facilities, including a fully functioning section of an Airbus A320, in which you will practice working coach procedures and other scenarios.
You will also be invited to attend the World Travel Market industry trade show at the Excel Centre in London.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.
Assessment is varied comprising of the following:
On line examinations Role plays Short answer question sheets Designing and developing industry manuals Practical assessment such as transfer speeches and welcome meetings Written assignments
NCFE Travel & Tourism Diploma Level 2.
On completion of the course you could progress onto further study in Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
You may decide to start your career in the industry as a Retail Travel Consultant, Tour Guide, Holiday Advisor (holiday rep), Business Travel Agent, Cruise Ship Personnel, Hotel Personnel (UK and Overseas), Tour Operator Personnel, or in Conference and Event Management
Trips and visits are an important part of this qualification and will incur an additional cost. Overseas trips are not compulsory, we have visited Iceland, New York and China in previous years.
Some of our teaching team are still working in the airline industry for British Airways providing you with the most current information and experiences. We have our own airline cabin creating a real-life working environment.
